Who we are

VBLineup is an independent site built by volleyball fans, for volleyball fans: squads, match results and player statistics from national team and club competitions, gathered in one place and free to read. It is a non-commercial project, not affiliated with any federation, league, club or competition organiser.

What we collect

There are no accounts — you can read everything here without telling us who you are, and the optional VBGrid leaderboard (below) asks only for a nickname. We use a third-party analytics tool (with data processed in the European Union) to understand aggregate usage: which pages get read, and basic technical context such as browser type and screen size.

By default this runs cookie-free: analytics state is held in memory only, sets no cookies, and nothing identifies you across visits.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive your message, the topic you picked and your email address. This is delivered to our inbox by email, used solely to read and respond to your message, and never shared or used for marketing.

VBGrid

The VBGrid game keeps your progress and your streak in your browser's local storage, on your device. When a board ends for you, the players you placed and your score are added to that board's anonymous totals, with nothing that identifies you.

The leaderboard is optional. If you join it, we store the nickname you pick, a random identifier created by your browser (kept in its local storage, not in a cookie), when you joined, and your score, misses and submission time for each board you play. Nicknames and scores are shown publicly on the leaderboards, which stay up as each run's final standings. Nothing else is linked to them, so pick a nickname that is not your real name if you would rather not be identifiable. While a run is open, remove me under the leaderboard deletes your nickname and every score with it; at any time you can also email vblineup@gmail.com with your nickname and we will remove them.

If you accept cookies

If you choose Accept in the cookie banner, our analytics tool stores a cookie and localStorage entry with a random identifier so return visits can be counted as the same visitor. We use this only for aggregate statistics. We do not run ads, and we do not sell or share personal data.

Withdrawing consent

Use Cookies in the footer to reopen the banner and change your choice at any time. Choosing Decline returns analytics to cookie-free mode; you can also delete cookies for this site in your browser.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of data associated with you. Email vblineup@gmail.com and we will handle it.

Retention

Analytics data is kept only as long as needed to understand usage of the site, within our analytics tool's retention settings. VBGrid leaderboard nicknames and scores are kept as each run's final standings until you remove them or ask us to.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
